5 Tables at CVPR 路 Denver 路 June 2026
No one finished dinner.
Another conference dinner?
I wanted something better.
Nobody needed another room full of people asking what everyone does for work. I had a theory: the most interesting people at CVPR didn't need another networking mixer. They needed something worth arguing about.
Five tables.
Five questions worth arguing about.
Is the inference stack we've built for language the wrong foundation for visual reasoning?
When does throwing more transformer compute at the problem stop working?
What would a real benchmark for visual reasoning actually look like?
How do you tell the difference between a company that's closing the gap and one that's just describing it better?
What's the first product that only becomes possible when AI can truly understand video?
Each table had someone who actually knew the space, and a conversation worth having. Hosted with NVIDIA, NEA, Elorian AI and Twelve Labs.

Thirty minutes in,
people were getting out of their chairs.
The discussions got too heated to sit through. Nobody finished their plate. The bar closed, the food was cleared, and the night still wasn't ending.
My goal was to create conversations and connections that would go beyond the night, beyond Denver. My favorite part wasn't the turnout. It was watching the room develop a life of its own. I think that's what a good gathering should do.

You don't always need to facilitate connection. Sometimes you just need to give people a reason to disagree.
